Parks & Playgrounds


Fort Saskatchewan has 400+ hectares of park/recreational/natural land with over 30 kilometres of paved pathways and 12 playgrounds.  Major recreational areas are identified in the menu bar on the left, while the list below outlines other community park areas.  By clicking on the name of the park you can access further detail, particularly the history behind the name of the park.
 

Fort Saskatchewan Prairie
The Fort Saskatchewan Prairie, located on the western edge of the City bordering the North Saskatchewan River next to Red Coat Landing Boat Launch, is one of the last remaining prairie remnants in the Capital Region.

Legacy Park
Legacy Park is located in the heart of downtown Fort Saskatchewan where many of our summer festivals are held in Legacy Park such a Legacy Park Family Festival, Canada Day and STARS Sunshine Carnival.

Pryce Alderson Park
Pryce Alderson Park is located in the Westpark Neighbourhood on Westpark Drive with 20 acres of green space. There are baseball diamonds, soccer pitches, playgrounds, the new Kin Family Spray Park and a basketball surface.

Turner Park
Today Turner Park is home to sports fields, picnic facilities with firepits, an enclosed picnic shelter, playgrounds and a campground. Located along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, the park is linked to the over 30 kilometres of paved trails encircling the community.

Diamond Park
A little piece of green, tucked away in Pineview, Diamond Park is located adjacent to 89 ST, between 94 and 95 AVE.

Inglis Park
Located along the northeast intersection of Highways 15 and 21, Inglis Park forms part of the Urban Forest and links into our 30 km paved trailsystem.

Langworthy Park
Langworthy Park is conveniently located at the end of 98 AVE, adjacent to Lowe AVE, at the east end of downtown, along the natural parkland following Ross Creek. It is ideal for picnics in the summer and sledding in the winter.

Lowe Avenue Park
Located on Lowe AVE at the entrance to O'Brien DR, this small but attractive amenity, offers a great place for residents to relax outdoors.

Rudolph Park
Located in the Clover Park subdivision, on Clover DR, Rudolph Park is a natural green space along Ross Creek.

Steele Park
Located in the Pineview neighbourhood, Steele Park has open green space and a playground for toddlers.

Carscadden Park
Carscadden Park stretches between Rudolph Hennig Elementary school and the Sprtsplex Arena in Pineview. Bordering the RCMP Park, Carscadden Park gives access to baseball diamonds, school playgrounds and offers large green spaces as well as links into our 30km paved trail system.

Chabot Park
Chabot Park provides views of the North Saskatchewan River including the concrete remnants of the old bridge that allowed trains and cars across the river on their way to downtown Fort Saskatchewan. Running along the top of the river bank between 89 STand 79 ST, Chabot Park is park of our 30 km multi-use trail system.

Eldon Brown Park
This park is located on 93 AVE just east of Sherridon DR. It is home to a soccer/football/rugby field and a baseball diamond. It is also connected to our extensive 30 km paved trail system.

Marion Rogers Park
Located off 100th AVE in the Chamberlain neighbourhood, between 81 ST and 80 ST, Marion Rogers Park has a playground, basketball net and green space for throwing a ball or frisbee around.

Rotary Amphitheatre and Arboretum
Part of Fort Centre Park, in the heart of Fort Saskatchewan, the natural grass amphitheatre and hillside sits in the river valley of the North Saskatchewan River.

Elks Park
Located south of 98 AVE between Ross DR and Jubilee DR, this park contains Alex’s Playground. Alex's Playground is part of Alberta’s Tire Recycling Revolution, organized in part by the Tire Recycling Management Association. Recycled tires become tire crumbs and manufactured products used throughout the playground, bringing recycled tires “full circle” back to benefit the community.

J. D. McLean Park
J.D. McLean Park, located at 80 ST and 93 AVE, has a playground and small hills for winter sliding.

Jarvis Memorial Park
Jarvis Park is a small formal garden, located downtown at 101 ST and 100 AVE, with benches for residents to relax and visit.

Jubilee Park
Jubilee Park boasts numerous sports and recreational facilities. Located on 101 ST between 93 AVE and 96 AVE it includes the Jubilee Recreation Centre, Harbour Pool, a Skateboard Park, the Golf & Curling Club, the Boy’s & Girls Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, three baseball diamonds, a soccer field and the Kinsmen Playground.

Mager Park
Mager Park is tucked away on 101 AVE at 107 ST and it contains a playground.

Mowat Park
Located in a stretch of parkland between Pope John the 23rd Elementary School and James Mowat Elementary School, Mowat Park contains three playgrounds, three soccer fields, two baseball diamonds, basketball nets and an outdoor rink.

RCMP Park
Located on 97 AVE and 90 ST, in the Pineview neighbourhood, the RCMP Park has a playground as well as an outdoor skating rink.

William Casey Park
Tucked away in the Westpark neighbourhood, William Casey Park is nestled between Westpark Road, Parkview Bay and Westpark Court. It contains a playground, small hills for winter sledding and room to let the kids run around.
